Split-second decision to shoot is tougher than you think

In regard to Mr. Ken Dean's article dated Aug. 3 ("Rethinking 'shooting to kill'"), I think Mr. Dean needs to "rethink" what a police officer faces when on patrol, usually going to someone's problem to help them figure out an answer.
