KidsArt/Drawn2Art Receives Prestigious Award

With tremendously hard work and perseverance, and with the help of so many talented people, KidsArt/Drawn2Art, with a location in Valencia, has achieved a great honor this year (the year of its 30th Anniversary). On September 11, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, it will be the recipient of the Walt Disney Motif Award for youth advocacy in the arts. Responses to ‘Whatever Happened to the Fort Café?’

In last Saturday's "Our Community" page (August 20, 2016, page B4), The Signal ran an interesting story titled, "Whatever happened to The Fort Café?" Former SCV resident, Steve White, shared a photo he took of The Fort Café in Mint Canyon in 1996. On a return trip to our valley recently, Mr. White looked for The Fort Café but could not find it, nor could he locate exactly where it stood.
