Aurora University Announces Spring 2016 Dean’s List

Aurora University congratulates students from the Santa Clarita Valley Signal coverage area who earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2016 semester. The Dean's List recognizes students who have earned a 3.6 GPA or higher. Students recognized with high honors have earned a perfect 4.0.

Summer Bunco Bash

Stonefire Grill will be catering a light dinner, Nothing Bundt Cakes is donating desserts, and Celebrity Beauty Supply will hand out goodie bags to each of the guests attending the Summer Bunco Bash on Thursday, Aug. 18. Hosted by the Auxiliary of the Child & Family Center in the center's Education Building, the evening's main event will feature fast-paced Bunco rolls with chances to win three championships. Each lucky champion will go home with two tickets to the center's Taste of the Town extravaganza next May.

Cocktails on the Roof Only Days Away

Santa Clarita is all ABUZZ waiting for September 9 and the 2nd Annual Cocktails on the Roof event, held on top of the Macy's parking garage at Valencia Town Center. The one and only "signature cocktail" party of the year is back, New York rooftop style, with greenery, inventive lighting, DJ and dancing (have you seen the "Thriller" teases on our FB event page?), selfie spots, cozy lounges and all the food, fun, cocktails and mocktails in our now famous mini martini glass.

The other day I was thinking about the summers I spent with my family growing up. With five kids and a limited income, we didn't take vacations. But we did get to visit either Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Marineland, Busch Gardens, the L.A. Zoo, or Magic Mountain every summer. Not to mention the different museums around L.A.
