Mitchell Community School Mitchell Community School students held a shoe drive the week of Jan. 25 for the victims of Haiti’s devastating earthquake. Father-daughter dance held at Legacy Christian Legacy Christian Academy hosted its 14th annual father-daughter dance on Feb. 6. The dance is a celebration focusing on the all important relationship between father and daughter. The purpose of the dance is to encourage all dads to spend a special evening with their daughters and illustrate the importance of them having strong, healthy relationships in the future. More than 130 couples take part in the dance every year. |

Rancho Pico holds food drive Rancho Pico Junior High School students and staff collected more than 2,700 items for the SCV Food Pantry before the end of 2009. Canned food and other items were collected in a holiday campaign coordinated by the Library Book Club and the library staff. The pantry showed its gratitude for the donation by sending a thank-you letter asking the school to repeat its generous food drive. |
